Friday Fun Night

So I found those math books. NOT my fault- the student couldn't find them in her overstuffed desk. (Daddy did put them "away", along with teacher books that didn't belong in there.) Things are more organized now. This morning Grace took her LLATL assessment, finished reading Misty of Chincoteague and began a "Book-Sell." (You know, like on Reading Rainbow....) Tuesday she'll practice it with her sister the aspiring film-maker/videographer/director.

We were going to go to the Da Vinci exhibit yesterday but we had to post- pone and didn't end up getting anything really done. It was a good day off and play date though. Actually, we did start off the day with math, and ended it with math, too, after we bought some base 10 blocks to help with Singapore Math's style of teaching triple-digit subtraction. The ones we had were homemade with craft sticks and beans and we didn't have nearly enough to do problems like 764- 328.

This afternoon we're watching an Eyewitness video about cats before starting math and sewing. Tonight the girls are especially excited to scrapbook! We're hosting a crop-night and making brownies for it. Should be fun. Not sure how Martin is feeling about it.....he'll like the brownies. Maybe he'll want to watch a movie with the baby if he doesn't want to scrapbook. Hmm.
