It's already NOVEMBER?
We finished Grace's horse unit on Chincoteagues and started Morgans. We also found a place to do vaulting- the sport of gymnastics and dance on the back of a horse! What a great way to combine interests (and without having to buy a horse). We're going to check it out in person on one of the next Saturdays this month.
We're finding it difficult to stay in our routine of 9-10, 10-11, 11-12. Basically unit study hour is getting ditched. It's really hard having the days broken up so much with drop offs and pickups in addition to the 2 day a week parent partnership program. So we're starting a new carpooling type system so I don't have to drive every day to those things. We're also going to implement an earlier bed time and earlier wakeup time so we're sure to stay on task first thing in the morning. If I sleep in a little because baby was fussy and I couldn't sleep all night, the girls aren't getting up and starting school without me. It's a matter of staying focused and getting them started before I give the baby a bath and stuff, too. They're getting their main work done, we just never started the BF science unit study and we're behind in Middle Ages/SOTW now. We may just do a lot of it the next few weeks and parts of it over Christmas vacation to make up for it.
I don't know how else to do this with a baby- how do other homeschooling moms of babies stay focused, awake and keep everyone on task??? Are we trying to do too much? Maybe I need to change my expectations.
